From the 9th century BC to the 6th century BC, the slave state of Uradu was established within the territory of Armenia. From the 6th century BC to the 3rd century AD, the Achaemenid and Seleucid dynasties ruled Armenia and established the Great Armenian State. Since then, Asia has been divided twice by Türkiye and Iran. From 1804 to 1828, two Russo Iranian wars ended in Iran's defeat, and the East Asian territories previously occupied by Iran were incorporated into Tsarist Russia. On May 28, 1918, the Dashnakchuqiong Party led the establishment of the First Republic of Armenia. On January 29, 1920, the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic was established. In March 1922, Asia joined the Transcaucasian Soviet Socialist Federal Republic and on December 30 of the same year, it joined the Soviet Union as a member state of the federation. On December 5, 1936, the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic became directly affiliated with the Soviet Union and became one of its constituent republics. On August 23, 1990, the Supreme Soviet of Armenia adopted the Declaration of Independence and renamed the country as the "Republic of Armenia". On September 21, 1991, Armenia held a national referendum and officially declared independence.

The National Assembly, also known as the National Assembly, is the highest legislative body of the country, with a term of 5 years and at least 101 seats, all of which are proportional. The main government officials include: Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Suren Papikyan, Minister of Defense.

In March 2018, Pashnyan, the leader of the "Way Out" political party alliance at the time, launched a large-scale demonstration to oppose the transfer of former President Sheikh Sarkisian to Prime Minister, who was forced to resign. In May of the same year, Pashnyan was elected as Prime Minister and led the "My Action" political party alliance to win the parliamentary elections. In September 2020, armed conflict broke out between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Nagorno Karabakh region. On November 9th, the heads of state of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia (Russia) signed a ceasefire statement. On June 20, 2021, the 8th parliamentary early elections were held in Asia. Pashnyan resigned as Prime Minister in accordance with legal procedures before the elections and became Acting Prime Minister. Afterwards, he led the "Citizens' Agreement" party to win the elections and gained the right to form a separate government. In January 2022, the then President A Sargsyan resigned. In March, Hachaturian, nominated by the "Citizen Agreement" party, was elected as the only candidate for president.

[Economy] After the independence of Asia, the economy declined year after year due to the weak foundation, the "Naka" war and the blockade of Azerbaijan and Türkiye. Starting from 2001, it began to rebound, and by 2007, GDP had maintained double-digit growth, and the living standards of the people had improved. Since the fourth quarter of 2008, the economic growth rate has slowed down due to the impact of the international financial crisis. Since 2009, the Asian government has taken measures such as adjusting industrial structure, expanding domestic demand, accelerating infrastructure construction, and vigorously supporting agriculture, striving to eliminate the consequences of the financial crisis and achieving certain results. In 2023, the gross domestic product of Asia was 23.46 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 8.7%, and the foreign trade volume was 20.72 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 46%. Asia and neighboring Azerbaijan have been in a state of hostility for a long time due to the Nagorno Karabakh issue.
