The government of the People's Republic of China and the government of Barbados have signed a comprehensive visa free agreement. Chinese citizens entering Barbados should pay attention to the following matters:
1、 Visa free entry to Barbados requires the following documents:
1. A passport with a validity period of more than 6 months;
2. A valid return flight ticket to China or other allowed countries of residence;
3. Completed Barbados entry and exit card;
4. Proof of travel expenses in Barbados (such as credit cards, cash, etc.).
2、 Chinese citizens holding diplomatic, official, or public service ordinary passports are exempt from visa entry and are allowed to stay for no more than 30 days.
3、 Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports are eligible for visa free entry for purposes such as tourism, business cooperation, family visits, and international transit, with a stay period not exceeding 30 days. If you need to extend your stay, you need to go to the immigration office in Pakistan to handle the extension procedures after entering the country. The following materials are required to complete the extension procedures:
1. The completed extension application form;
2. Valid return airfare;
3. A valid passport;
4. A passport photo;
5. 100 bar handling fee.
4、 Chinese citizens entering the country for purposes such as studying, residing, working, or engaging in media coverage still need to apply for the corresponding type of visa from the Pakistani immigration bureau in advance, otherwise they will be refused entry.
5、 According to relevant laws in Pakistan, Chinese citizens who enter the country without a visa are not allowed to stay in Pakistan for more than 30 days, work or study in Pakistan without approval from the immigration bureau. Otherwise, they will be considered illegal and may be deported.
The Immigration Department of Barbados generally issues work permits to foreigners only when there is no suitable person among its residents. Work permits are divided into two types: long-term and short-term, with validity periods ranging from 11 months to 3 years and within 11 months, respectively. Once local residents or trade union organizations raise objections, foreigners' work permits may be canceled at any time. Barbados does not encourage foreigners to engage in retail business, restaurants, bars and other tourism ancillary industries in Barbados. To apply for a work permit, one must submit a work permit application form, proof of employment from the employer in Barbados, a notarized certificate of non criminal record (for those who have been in Barbados for more than six months, a notarized certificate of non criminal record in Barbados must be submitted), a physical health certificate, and a blood test report. In addition to submitting the above-mentioned materials, it is also necessary to submit documents such as income tax certificate and proof of participation in national insurance to apply for an extension.
Barbados student visa fee of $150; The work permit application fee is $150, and the final fee is determined by the type of work permit and its validity period; The permanent residency application fee is $150, and after approval, a fee of $600 is required (as of January 2019). For specific matters, please consult the Embassy of Barbados in China.
On May 27, 2014, the governments of China and Barbados signed an agreement on mutual exemption of visas for personnel holding diplomatic and official passports. The agreement came into effect on August 2, 2014, and holders of diplomatic, official, and service ordinary passports will be able to stay in Barbados visa free for 30 days. The Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of Barbados on Mutual Visa Exemption for Ordinary Passport Holders came into effect on June 1, 2017. Chinese citizens can enter the country visa free for tourism, business cooperation, family visits, international transit, and other purposes, with a stay period not exceeding 30 days. The Barbados government officially implemented a unilateral visa free entry policy for Chinese citizens holding Hong Kong Special Administrative Region passports on December 21, 2016, and for Chinese citizens holding Macau Special Administrative Region passports on July 4, 2019.
Special tip: Once the Immigration Bureau of Barbados finds that foreigners are suspected of illegal immigration, they will be repatriated by the original aircraft.
1、 Customs regulations
Barbados has strict restrictions on the types and quantities of items carried by inbound travelers. Most passengers entering the airport need to undergo inspection before being released. Passengers carrying prescription drugs must provide an official prescription, and tobacco, alcohol, and other daily necessities are strictly limited. Barbados implements foreign exchange controls, and residents can generally only withdraw local currency from their foreign exchange assets in local banks.
Foreign tourists can purchase duty-free goods directly at the Barbados duty-free shop with their passport and departure ticket. Tobacco and alcohol products cannot be picked up at that time and must be collected at the airport duty-free shop with the purchase invoice when leaving the country.
