The Belarusians are a branch of the East Slavic ethnic group. The name 'Belarus' first appeared in the second half of the 13th century in the Dublin Manuscripts (Ireland). In 862 AD, Polotsk Castle was built on Belarusian soil. From the 9th to the 12th century, the Polotsk Principality was formed with this castle as its center. The Belarusian language and script were formed in the first half of the 13th century. From the mid-13th century to the late 18th century, it successively belonged to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Kingdom of Poland Lithuania. Since the 18th century, it has been incorporated into the Russian Empire. In March 1918, the pro German Executive Committee of the Belarusian Plenum declared the establishment of the Belarusian People's Republic in the German occupied territories. In January 1919, the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic was established, and on December 30, 1922, it formed the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) along with the Russian Federation, Transcaucasian Federation, and Ukraine. On July 27, 1990, the White Supreme Soviet adopted the Declaration of National Sovereignty. On September 19, 1991, it was renamed the Republic of Belarus, abbreviated as Belarus, and on December 8, it joined the Commonwealth of Independent States as a founding member.

The presidential system began in 1994, and in July of the same year, Lukashenko was elected as the first president. In November 1996, Bai held a national referendum to extend President Lu's term until 2001. In September 2001, Lu was re elected in the presidential election. In October 2004, Bai held a national referendum and parliamentary elections, abolishing the constitutional provision that the presidential term cannot exceed two terms. Lukashenko was re elected as president in March 2006, December 2010, October 2015, and August 2020. In February 2022, Bai held a constitutional amendment referendum and passed a constitutional amendment with 65.16% support, which stipulated that the president elected after the implementation of the new constitution could not be re elected for more than two terms.

The National Assembly, also known as the Parliament, is composed of the House of Representatives (Upper House) and the House of Representatives (Lower House), with a term of 5 years each. There are a total of 64 representatives in the House of the Republic, of which 56 are elected by the local councils of 6 states and 1 city (Minsk) in the country through anonymous voting, and the other 8 are appointed by the President. The current president Natalia Kochanova (Наталья Коチанова) is the president of the 8th House of the Republic and was elected in April 2024. The House of Representatives is composed of 110 representatives who are directly elected by universal suffrage through anonymous voting. Igor Sergeyenko, the Chairman of the 8th House of Representatives, was elected in March 2024.

The current government was formed in August 2020. Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko. The main government officials include: Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov, Defense Minister Victor Khrenin, and Economy Minister Yury Chebotar.

Economy: Bai Gong has a good foundation in agriculture. Mechanical manufacturing, electronics, optical instruments, metallurgy, petroleum processing, wood processing, and food industry are relatively advanced; Agriculture and animal husbandry are relatively developed, and the production of potatoes, sugar beets, and flax ranks among the top in the CIS countries. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the white economy was once in crisis. Since 1996, the white economy has begun to recover and grow. In March 2002, Lukashenko proposed the "Belarus Development Model", which implemented gradual reforms, abandoned complete privatization and shock therapy, established a controllable market economy system, and strengthened social security. In 2011, a severe economic and financial crisis erupted due to a combination of internal and external factors. In 2023, the gross domestic product of Belarus will be approximately 68.7 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%. From January to June 2024, the gross domestic product of Belarus was approximately 35.78 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 5%.

On January 11, 1992, Belarus announced the takeover of all conventional forces of the former Soviet army within its borders. The White Armed Forces consist of two branches, the Army and the Air Defense Forces, and one branch of the Special Forces, with approximately 70000 active duty troops.
