1、 Brunei nationality
Brunei does not recognize dual citizenship and implements strict immigration controls. Foreigners who marry Brunei citizens can apply for permanent residence after they meet the standards, and it is difficult to become Brunei citizens. According to the Brunei Nationality Law, if the father is a Brunei citizen, the child is born with Brunei nationality.
2、 Work permit
The permit is a certificate for foreigners to stay, work and study legally in Brunei. It is issued by Brunei Immigration Bureau according to the different purposes of foreigners going to Brunei. It mainly includes social networking permit, work permit, student permit, family permit, etc. Details can be found on Brunei government website (www.gov.bn).

Brunei's risk level is blue (low risk)
Brunei's overall social security is good, but we cannot take it lightly. In recent years, due to the impact of domestic and foreign economies, the number of unemployed people has increased, and criminal activities such as drug abuse, theft, and telecommunications fraud have slightly increased. Chinese citizens should pay special attention to the following aspects in writing:
1. Attention should be paid to personal safety, maintaining smooth contact with family and friends, and enhancing awareness of prevention and vigilance. If an accident occurs, you should report it to the police station or try to contact the embassy or consulate as soon as possible.
2. Avoid traveling alone to remote areas. It's best to go out at night in groups and stay alert when passing through less crowded areas.
3. Properly keep personal belongings and identification documents, try not to carry valuable items or large amounts of cash with you when going out, and do not store large amounts of cash in your place of residence.
4. Comply with local laws and traffic rules, and respect taboos and customs of different races and religions.
Brunei has a tropical rainforest climate, which is hot all year round with an average annual temperature of 28 ℃. There is abundant rainfall throughout the year, with occasional small landslides and rainwater flooding. Please pay close attention to the local weather forecast. Please properly arrange your trip during the rainy season. In rainstorm, try to reduce going out. If you go out, you should take rain gear, be careful of thunder and lightning, and slow down when driving. Please also bring medication for heatstroke prevention, cooling, and mosquito bites.
The local catering industry has good food hygiene conditions, and the government health department often inspects food hygiene. Brunei's weather is humid and hot, and food is prone to spoilage. Pay attention to drinking water and keeping food fresh and hygienic. Do not drink raw water or eat undercooked food. Prepare an appropriate amount of gastrointestinal medicine before traveling.
Chinese citizens are advised to seek assistance from local police or fire departments in case of emergency during the period of writing, and can also contact the Chinese Embassy in Brunei. If personal safety or property is infringed upon, one should immediately report to the local police and request them to provide a report of the incident, in order to handle insurance claims and other procedures in the future.

Brunei has well-developed highways and excellent road conditions, with an average of one car per 1.5 people. Residents mainly rely on private cars for transportation, and taxi and bus services are underdeveloped.
Brunei vehicles drive on the right and left, with fast speeds. Local people mainly use motor vehicles for travel, and there are few sidewalks and non motorized lanes on the road. When walking, be extra careful. If you have no experience driving right-hand drive vehicles, try not to drive recklessly. If self driving is necessary, please familiarize yourself with the process of applying for a legal driver's license in advance and complete all necessary procedures.
Brunei's capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, is the largest city in the country. There are a total of four in the countryDistrict: Brunei Mora District, Dudong District, Malay Yih District, and Tambulong District. The district heads are responsible for daily administrative affairs within their respective districts, which are managed and coordinated by the Ministry of the Interior. Mukim is established under the district, and the township head is appointed by the government. Kampong is established in rural areas.
Oil and natural gas are the main pillars of Brunei's economy. The non oil and gas industries include construction, finance, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, etc., but they are not developed. Industrial equipment, agricultural products, daily necessities, etc. mainly rely on imports. Brunei's currency and Singapore's currency can be exchanged for equivalent use in the local market. The price level is higher than that of neighboring countries.
1、 Perennial epidemic disease
There are occasional cases of dengue fever within the territory, and there are no other serious infectious diseases such as pertussis, tetanus, polio, encephalitis, etc.
2、 Medical conditions and medical insurance
Brunei has a relatively complete medical security system. The government provides free medical care to its citizens, including free medical treatment abroad, but foreigners do not enjoy this treatment. General drugs can be purchased at the clinic with a prescription issued by a doctor.
Brunei has no regulations on forcing foreigners to purchase medical insurance.

Non Muslim people should respect the local religious customs and avoid eating and smoking in public places or in front of Muslims; Do not provide food and beverages that can be consumed on-site to Muslims during their fasting period. During the fasting period of Ramadan, restaurants will stop providing on-site food consumption (i.e. dining in the restaurant is not allowed), and some restaurants may provide takeaway services. In addition, every Friday from 12pm to 2pm throughout the year is the time for Muslims to pray at the mosque, and all commercial activities are suspended.
