【 Geographic Location 】 Located in the southern part of the Indochinese Peninsula, adjacent to Vietnam, Thailand, and Laos. The area is approximately 180000 square kilometers. The capital Phnom Penh.

The population is about 16 million, with the Khmer ethnic group accounting for 80% of the total population. There are approximately 1.1 million Chinese and overseas Chinese.

[Important Festival] (1) Independence Day: November 9th. On November 9, 1953, the Kingdom of Cambodia declared independence from French colonial rule, and this day was designated as Cambodia's National Day and Army Day. (2) Buddhist New Year: Mid April.

Implement a constitutional monarchy in politics. The king is the highest head of state, and both the parliament and the Senate are the legislative bodies of the country. The Prime Minister is nominated by the party with the most seats, approved by a vote of more than half of the members of parliament, granted royal permission by the king, and officially takes office after taking the oath of office. The current King Norodom Sihamoni, Senate Chairman Hun Sen, Parliamentary Chairman Kunsordali, and Prime Minister Homana.

The current Constitution of Cambodia was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on September 21, 1993 and signed into effect by King Norodom Sihanouk on September 24 of the same year. The constitution stipulates that Cambodia's national system is a constitutional monarchy, implementing a multi-party system and a free market economy, with the separation of powers of legislation, administration, and judiciary. The king is a lifelong head of state, supreme commander of the armed forces, symbol of national unity and eternity, with the power to declare amnesty, and the power to dissolve parliament upon the recommendation of the prime minister and with the consent of the chairman of parliament. During the period when the king is unable to govern or is absent from the country, the chairman of the Senate shall act as the head of state. The king has no right to designate an heir to the throne, and the throne is elected by the Throne Council.

The National Assembly is the legislative body of Cambodia, with a term of 5 years. Establish 10 specialized committees.

The current parliament was established in August 2023, consisting of 125 members, with the People's Party winning 120 seats and the Fengxinbik Party winning 5 seats. Kunsordali serves as the Chairman of the National Assembly, Qian Ye as the First Vice Chairman, and Wang Su as the Second Vice Chairman.

The Cambodian Constitution stipulates that bills must be reviewed and approved by the National Assembly, the Senate, and the Constitutional Council at all levels, and finally submitted to the King for signature and implementation. The protocol of the Senate President ranks after the King, before the President of Parliament and the Prime Minister, and acts as the acting head of state when the King is unable to govern or is absent from the country due to unforeseen circumstances. The Senate has a term of 6 years.

The current Senate was established in April 2024 and consists of 62 senators, including 58 from the People's Party, 2 directly appointed by the King, and 2 appointed by the National Assembly. Hun Sen serves as the Chairman of the Senate, with Brasorkin and Wu Bolie serving as the First and Second Vice Chairmen, respectively.

The current government of Cambodia is the seventh government, established in August 2023, with Hong Manet serving as the Prime Minister. There are a total of 11 deputy prime ministers, 21 ministers of state, 28 ministries, and 2 state secretaries.

The main political parties in Cambodia are:

(1) Cambodian People's Party. Formerly known as the Cambodian People's Revolutionary Party, it was founded in June 1951 and changed to its current name in October 1991. Current Party Chairman Hun Sen, Vice Chairmen Shao Ken, Sai Chong, Di Ban, Mason An, and Hong Mane. Advocate for maintaining political stability internally, committed to economic development and poverty alleviation, and establishing a democratic and legal country; We pursue an independent, peaceful, neutral, and non aligned policy towards foreign countries, support the establishment of a new international political and economic order, advocate for strengthening South South cooperation, narrowing the wealth gap, enhancing regional cooperation, and maintaining regional peace and prosperity. We attach great importance to friendly cooperation with neighboring countries and the development of friendly relations with major powers such as China, Japan, and France, actively improving relations with the United States and the West.

After the 1993 general election, the People's Party, as the second largest party, formed a coalition with the first largest party, the Fengxinbik Party. In the 1998 general election, he won and became the largest party, with Hun Sen serving as Prime Minister. In the 2003 general election, Hun Sen won 73 parliamentary seats and was re elected as Prime Minister. In the 2008 general election, Hun Sen won 90 parliamentary seats and was re elected as Prime Minister. In the 2013 general election, Hun Sen won 68 parliamentary seats and was re elected as Prime Minister. In the 2018 general election, Hun Sen won 125 parliamentary seats and was re elected as Prime Minister. In the 2023 general election, he won 120 parliamentary seats and was appointed as the Prime Minister.

(2) Fengxinbik Party. Formerly known as the "Front Uni National Pour Un Cambodge Independent, Neutre, Pacifique, et Cooperatif" (short for Funcinpec in French), it was founded and chaired by Sihanouk in 1981. In 1992, it was changed to its current name. Current Chairman Jialawu. Adhering to Sihanoukville ideology, advocating political democratization, economic privatization, and upholding constitutional monarchy domestically; We adhere to an independent, peaceful, neutral, and non aligned foreign policy, advocating for the establishment and development of friendly and cooperative relations with all countries and friendly political parties in the world, and resolving border territorial disputes with neighboring countries through peaceful means.

In the 1993 general election, the Funcinpik Party won and became the largest party in the parliament. In the 1998 general election, it won 43 parliamentary seats and became the second largest party. In the 2003 general election, it won 26 parliamentary seats and became the second largest party. In the 2008 general election, he won two parliamentary seats. I did not win any seats in the 2013 and 2018 elections. Obtained 5 parliamentary seats in the 2023 general election.

[Important Figures]

(1) King Norodom Sihamoni: the eldest son of King Norodom Sihanouk and Queen Mother Monile. Born in May 1953 in Phnom Penh. In the 1960s to mid-1970s, he studied dance, music, and opera in Prague, Czech Republic. In the 1980s, he lived in France and worked as a professor of classical dance and art at the Mozart School in Paris. He also served as the head of the Khmer Dance Society, ballet troupe, and artistic director. In 1993, he was appointed as the Permanent Ambassador to UNESCO. He ascended to the throne in October 2004. State visits to China were conducted in August 2005 and June 2016. I have come to China multiple times for physical examination and recuperation.

(2) Hun Sen: Chairman of the Cambodian Senate, Chairman of the King's Advisory Group, and Chairman of the People's Party. Born in August 1952 in Kampong Cham Province. Appointed as Vice Chairman of the People's Party in October 1991. In September 1993, he was appointed as the Second Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia. In November 1998, he was appointed as the Prime Minister of the Royal Government. He was re elected as Prime Minister four times in 2004, 2008, 2013, and 2018. He stepped down as Prime Minister in August 2023 and became the Chairman of the King's Advisory Council. Elected as the Chairman of the People's Party in 2015. Elected as the Chairman of the Senate in April 2024. Visited China multiple times and attended conferences. Madame Wenlani is appointed as the President of the Cambodian Red Cross.

(3) Kunsordali: President of the Cambodian Parliament, born on November 18, 1952 in Battambang Province. From 1993 to 1998, he served as an advisor to the President of the National Assembly, a member of the National Assembly since 1998, a member of the Central Standing Committee of the People's Party since 2007, and the Second Vice President of the National Assembly from 2013 to 2015 and from September 2018 to August 2023. Appointed as the President of the National Assembly in August 2023. Official visit to China in September 2024.

(4) Hong Mane: Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, born in October 1977 in Kampong Cham Province. He has held various positions including Deputy Commander of the Cambodian Army, Deputy Commander in Chief of the Royal Family Army, and Army Commander. Appointed as the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia in August 2023. Official visit to China in September 2023. Elected as Vice Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party in December 2023.

Cambodia is a traditional agricultural country. The impoverished population accounts for approximately 17.8% of the total population. Implement policies of opening up to the outside world and a free market economy. The current government is implementing the first phase of the "Five Corners Strategy" with growth, employment, equity, efficiency, and sustainability as strategic objectives. According to Cambodian government statistics, the gross domestic product (GDP) for 2023 is expected to be approximately 32.17 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%, with an average of 1917 US dollars per capita and an inflation rate of 2.5%.

Cambodia pursues a foreign policy of independence, peace, permanent neutrality, and non alignment. Joined ASEAN in 1999 and served as the rotating chair of ASEAN in 2002, 2012, and 2022.
