1、 Visa
According to the laws and regulations of Kazakhstan, there are a total of 39 types of visas for traveling to Kazakhstan, including short-term, long-term, diplomatic, official, and investment visas. Holders of Chinese diplomatic or official passports who stay in Kazakhstan for no more than 30 days are exempt from visa application, and those who exceed the deadline must apply for a residence visa. There is no need to apply for a visa to enter or leave Kazakhstan with a Kazakh alien residence permit. Holders of Hong Kong SAR passports are exempt from visa requirements for stays of up to 14 days in Kazakhstan, while holders of Macau SAR passports need to apply for a visa before coming to Kazakhstan.
The Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Mutual Visa Exemption has come into effect on November 10, 2023. According to this agreement, Chinese citizens who enter, exit or transit Kazakhstan for personal affairs, business activities (including negotiation, signing contracts, providing consulting services and other business activities), tourism, medical care, international transportation and transit purposes, and hold valid travel documents (Chinese official ordinary passport, general passport, travel document) as stipulated in this agreement, are exempt from visa application if they stay in Kazakhstan for no more than 30 days per visit from the date of entry, and for a cumulative stay of no more than 90 days per 180 days. For reasons and deadlines that do not comply with the provisions of this agreement, the corresponding visa must be obtained before entering Kazakhstan. You can apply for a visa to Kazakhstan at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China, Consulate General in Shanghai, Consulate General in Xi'an, Consulate General in Hong Kong, or visa agency in Urumqi (only for Chinese citizens of Xinjiang nationality). The visa application type must match the purpose of travel, otherwise it may be refused entry by the Harbin border inspection department.
The issuance of visas by embassies and consulates abroad in Kazakhstan requires approval from within the country and obtaining a "return visa number" before issuance, resulting in a longer processing time for visas. Ha doesn't apply for a visa on arrival. 2、 Entry and exit
According to the regulations of Kazakhstan, after foreigners enter Kazakhstan, the inviting party (including accommodation hotels) in Kazakhstan shall notify the immigration department of foreigners' entry information or residence information within three working days, and log in to the Kazakhstan e-government website https:// Eqonaq.kz/Fill in relevant information (including information on underage children accompanying you) and submit it online, or submit materials in writing to the immigration agency in Kazakhstan. Foreign citizens do not need to personally go to the immigration department for registration. Processing this service is free of charge.
Foreigners who enter the country temporarily must leave the country before their visas expire. If they leave the country after the expiration of their visas, they must pay a fine. Those who leave the country after the expiration of their visas may be detained if the circumstances are serious. If you lose your documents after entering the country, you must apply for a new international travel document and immediately go to the immigration office to apply for an exit visa before leaving.

If you carry cash or checks worth over $10000 (or other equivalent currency) with you upon entry, or carry or transport items weighing over 50 kilograms per person, you must declare them to customs. When leaving the country, the customs declaration form filled out at the time of entry must be presented. The amount of cash or checks carried should not exceed the declared amount upon entry, and if it exceeds, proof of origin must be provided. If carrying a large amount of foreign currency without customs declaration, once discovered, in addition to confiscation, it will also be convicted according to the laws of Kazakhstan. The law of Kazakhstan does not recognize dual nationality. Those who acquire other nationalities must submit a naturalization statement report to the Ministry of Internal Affairs or Kazakhstan's overseas institutions within 30 days, otherwise their Kazakh nationality will be revoked and they will be subject to legal sanctions. When a newborn is born, if both parents have Kazakh nationality, the child will have Kazakh nationality regardless of where they are born. At present, the airlines that offer direct flights between China and Kazakhstan include Air China, China Southern Airlines, Astana Airlines, and Skate Airlines. 1. Astana
Astana is located in the central northern part of Kazakhstan and was formerly known as Akmola. In October 1997, the capital of Kazakhstan was relocated from Almaty to Akmola by presidential decree. In May 1998, it was renamed Astana (meaning "capital" in Kazakh). In March 2019, it was renamed Nur Sultan. In September 2022, it will be renamed Astana again.
Astana is one of the youngest capitals in the world and one of the most modern cities in Central Asia, with a population of approximately 1.4095 million (as of October 2023) and an area of 797 square kilometers. One of the largest rivers in central and northern Kazakhstan, the Ishim River, flows through the city. It belongs to a typical continental climate, with frequent winds throughout the year, severe cold in winter, and frequent snowfall. 2. Almaty
Almaty is the economic and cultural center of Kazakhstan, located in the hilly area at the foot of Alatau in Ili, just north of the Tianshan Mountains in southeastern Kazakhstan, surrounded by mountains on three sides. The area is approximately 682 square kilometers, with an altitude of 700-900 meters, and a population of approximately 2.2112 million (as of October 2023). Known for its abundant production of apples, Almaty means' father of apples' in Kazakh language.
