Visa Entry

The Ji visa is divided into diplomatic, official, investment, work, special work, business, special invitation, cabin crew, mountaineering, tourism, visiting relatives, returning home, studying, religion, exit, transit, and digital nomad visas. According to the bilateral agreement between China and Kyrgyzstan, Chinese citizens holding diplomatic or official passports are exempt from visa requirements and can stay in Kyrgyzstan for 30 days. Other types of passport holders need to apply for a visa to travel to Kyrgyzstan. In addition, starting from October 21, 2023, Chinese citizens holding long-term valid visas of more than 3 years from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Schengen countries can enter the country visa free through Bishkek Manas International Airport, with a stay of no more than 7 days. After leaving Kyrgyzstan for 21 days, they can enter again visa free; Permanent residents of Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions of China holding valid travel documents, who have round-trip air tickets, can also enter China visa free through Manas International Airport for a stay of no more than 30 days. They can re-enter China visa free after leaving Kyrgyzstan for 30 days.

Ji implements a return visa system. Chinese citizens can apply for a visa to Kyrgyzstan at the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in China, Consulate General in Guangzhou, or Kyrgyzstan visa agency in Urumqi with a valid invitation letter issued by an individual or organization from Kyrgyzstan, confirmed and issued with a visa permit number by the Consulate General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan. Generally, the visa is for an entry period not exceeding 60 days. According to the amendment of the Jilin Immigration Law, work, investment, family visit, and study visas can be extended, while other types of visas cannot be extended. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan will pilot the registration of a "single permit" starting from January 1, 2025, replacing traditional work permits and visas. Foreign workers or their employers can apply directly online (www.evisa. e-gov. kg) without the need to separately apply for labor quotas and visas, reducing the review time to seven working days.

Chinese citizens can apply for an electronic visa to Kyrgyzstan by logging into the website "www.evisa-e-gov.kg". Applicants can submit their visa application online, upload electronic documents, and use their visa/master card to pay the visa fee online without the need to apply for a visa return in advance. The electronic visa review time is 5 working days. If the review is not passed, the visa fee will not be refunded. At the same time, applicants can still apply for a visa to Kyrgyzstan through traditional means at the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in China, the Consulate General in Guangzhou, or the Kyrgyzstan visa agency in Urumqi.

Customs epidemic prevention and control

Chinese citizens are allowed to carry ordinary personal items, portable electronic devices, etc. when traveling to Jizhou. Residency and Naturalization

According to the amendment of the Immigration Law of Kyrgyzstan, Chinese citizens who stay in Kyrgyzstan for more than 5 working days must register at the branch of the National Registration Bureau or the Consular Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (diplomatic or official passport) where they reside within 5 working days from the date of entry. Those who fail to register on time will be subject to an administrative fine of 10000 som. The residence period shall not exceed the validity period of the visa. If the stay period does not exceed 5 working days, registration is not required. According to the new regulations of the Jilin Digital Development Department, foreign citizens can register online from July 24, 2023.

The conditions for issuing long-term residence permits (green cards) to foreign citizens in Kyrgyzstan are relatively strict. Generally, those who have worked and lived continuously in Kyrgyzstan for more than 5 years are eligible to apply for a long-term residence permit from the competent authorities in Kyrgyzstan; The residence period does not exceed the validity period of the passport and can be extended.

According to the Nationality Law of Kyrgyzstan, dual nationality of neighboring countries and other specific cases of dual nationality are not recognized. However, citizens of Kyrgyzstan may obtain foreign nationality without violating the laws of Kyrgyzstan and foreign countries, or if Kyrgyzstan has signed international treaties on dual nationality with other countries.
