Visa Entry

Chinese citizens holding diplomatic, official, official ordinary, or regular passports who travel or transit to Lebanon can apply for free landing visas at various entry ports in Lebanon. Upon entry, they must present round-trip airfare and accommodation information during their stay in Lebanon. The visa on arrival for holders of diplomatic passports is valid for 6 months; The validity period of a visa on arrival for holders of other types of passports is marked as 1 month, but it can be automatically extended by 2 months upon entry, so the actual stay period is 3 months. Chinese citizens who come to Lebanon for other purposes must apply for a visa to Lebanon in advance at the Lebanese Embassy in China. Workers traveling to Lebanon can apply for a work visa certificate from their employer in Lebanon to the Lebanese Ministry of Labor and Public Security Bureau in advance. Chinese citizens holding a work visa certificate (original Arabic and English translation) can directly enter Lebanon without applying for a visa at the Lebanese Embassy in China. Within 3 months after arriving in Lebanon, they must apply for a work permit and residence permit from the Lebanese Ministry of Labor and Public Security Bureau.

Special Reminder:

1. Please ensure that your travel documents are complete, visa pages, and all previous visa stickers are complete. If you have an Israeli visa or entry/exit record on your passport, you will be refused entry by the Lebanese side.

2. The Lebanese immigration agency conducts a preliminary screening of individuals wanted by Interpol based on their names. If your name has a high rate of Chinese Pinyin duplication, it is recommended to apply for a certificate of no criminal record and proof of family relationship in China in advance, and complete the necessary translation and public authentication procedures to avoid obstruction during entry.

Residency and Naturalization

1、 Nationality Policy

Foreigners who acquire Lebanese nationality must submit an application and be examined. Generally, foreign women can apply for Lebanese citizenship after marrying Lebanese men for at least one year. Children born to Lebanese men and foreign women after marriage have Lebanese nationality at birth. Lebanon recognizes multiple nationalities.

2、 Residence Policy

The Ministry of Labor and the General Public Security Bureau of Lebanon are responsible for handling work permits and residence permits for foreigners in Lebanon (referred to as "two permits"). Chinese citizens are classified as Class I laborers, with a total cost of approximately $2400 for the "two certificates". They require a medical examination report from a designated hospital in Lebanon and must apply for an annual extension. When issuing a new certificate, the Lebanese Public Security Bureau will confirm whether foreign citizens have returned to China or traveled to countries with high incidence of infectious diseases during their stay in Lebanon. If so, they will need to go to the designated hospital in Lebanon again for a physical examination.

The procedures for obtaining the "two certificates" in Lebanon are complicated and time-consuming, and there are often cases where the "two certificates" have not been obtained after the visa expires. Please closely monitor the processing of the "two certificates" and apply for an extension in a timely manner before the end of the visa stay period.

For details, please refer to the website of the Lebanese Public Security Bureau( http://www.general-security.gov.lb ).
