Muscat International Airport is the aviation transportation hub of Oman, with Salalah Airport being an important airport in its southern region, and Dukum, Suhal, and Al Khatib airports being important provincial airports. There are direct flights of Oman Airlines between Muscat and Guangzhou (which have been grounded due to the COVID-19 and have not been recovered yet.). Other cities in China can also transit through Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi and other surrounding cities. At the same time, there are a few direct flights to Egypt, Britain, Germany, Italy, Thailand, India and Pakistan.
Road transportation is the most important and convenient mode of transportation within Oman. The road from the capital city of Muscat to southern Sarala is over 1000 kilometers long, making it the longest road in Oman.
Local vehicles drive on the right side, and the main traffic rules are similar to those in China.
Oman's traffic regulations are very strict, and violations will face high fines and even detention. For those who have been driving for no more than 3 months in the short term, they can hold a domestic driver's license and an international driving permit (commonly known as an international driver's license) to drive vehicles. If staying in Oman for more than 3 months, one must obtain an Omani driver's license. The Oman driver's license exam is divided into three parts: traffic signal recognition, venue test, and road test, which are difficult to pass.
The main ports in Oman are Sultan Qaboos Port (Muscat), Salalah Port, Suhar Port, and Dukum Port.
The Sultan Qaboos Port in Muscat has a fast ferry connecting Muscat with the Omani enclave of Musandam Province.
