Visa Entry

1、 Visa Notice

The Agreement on Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements for Personnel Holding Diplomatic and Official (Special Official) Passports between China, St. Paul's and Prussia came into effect on February 3, 2018. According to the agreement, citizens of both countries holding valid diplomatic or official (including regular official) passports are exempt from visa requirements for entry, exit, or transit in the other contracting country for a period not exceeding 30 days from the date of entry.

Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports can apply for a visa on arrival when entering, exiting, or transiting through Sao Tome and Principe.

St. Paul's visa is divided into four types: transit visa, temporary visa, residence visa, official/diplomatic and hospitality visa, and the fees vary depending on the type.

2、 Entry Notice

Entry to St. Paul's Hospital requires a passport or other international travel document with a validity period of at least 6 months, as well as an International Certificate of Vaccination or Preventive Measures (commonly known as the "Yellow Book").

Carrying over 10000 euros (inclusive) or 10000 US dollars (inclusive) requires truthful declaration to customs.

Residency and Naturalization

1、 Residence visa

The residence visa is issued by the immigration bureau, with the participation of relevant departments such as the judiciary and foreign affairs. It is valid for one year and can be extended.

2、 Naturalized Immigration

According to the Saint-P é ric Nationality Law, Saint-P é ric nationality can be obtained through marriage, parenthood, adoption, and continuous residence for at least 5 years.

International flights: There are direct flights between Sao Tome and Principe and Portugal (with a stopover in Accra, the capital of Ghana), Gabon, and Angola, all operated by the respective airlines. Currently, Saint Paul's Airlines only has one flight to Portugal on Saturdays.

Domestically, there are round-trip flights between Sao Tome Island and Principe Island on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with a travel time of approximately 40 minutes.

Medical insurance: Outpatient services require payment of a certain fee; Hospitalization can enjoy public medical care, but the level is limited.

Common diseases and treatment: At present, malaria has been basically controlled with a low incidence rate. If you feel weak and your body temperature rises, you can contact the local inspection agency for timely testing (results can be obtained in about 15 minutes).

Holiday introduction: There are many holidays in Saint Paul's Day. In addition to international holidays such as National Day, New Year's Day, May Day, and March 8th, there are also Army Day, various religious holidays, etc. Generally, there is one day off for holidays.

Etiquette: There are no special etiquettes in St. Pu. Men generally shake hands or embrace when meeting or bidding farewell, while women or men shake hands or face each other.

Clothing: For more formal occasions, women usually wear suits, while women can wear various gorgeous clothes.
