Slovenia joined the Schengen Agreement at the end of 2007, and individuals holding valid residence permits from other Schengen countries and staying in Slovenia for no more than 90 days are exempt from visa requirements.
Short term Schengen visas issued by other Schengen Agreement countries for entry, transit, and other purposes can be used to enter Sri Lanka during the validity and stay period of the visa.
In addition to visa exemption according to the agreement, foreigners must hold valid passports, visas or residence permits when entering the country.
Chinese citizens holding diplomatic or official passports and staying in Slovenia for no more than 90 days after entry are exempt from visa requirements. Holders of other types of passports entering or transiting Slovenia must obtain a visa in advance at the Embassy of Slovenia in China or the Consulate General in Shanghai.
There are several types of visas available:
A-class airport transit visa: If you hold an international connecting ticket to transit through Sri Lanka without leaving the airport, you need to apply for an A-class visa. This visa is a Schengen visa, valid for 3 months, with a maximum stay of 5 days.
C-type short-term visa: To enter Slovenia for tourism, business or other reasons and stay for a short period of time, a C-type visa application is required. This visa is a Schengen visa, valid for 6 months, with a maximum stay of 90 days within a 180 day period, divided into one, two, and multiple times.
D long-term visa: For family members of EU citizens or Slovenian citizens from non EU member states who travel to Slovenia for the purpose of family reunion, they need to apply for a D long-term visa. After entering the country with this visa, one must apply for a residence permit within the validity period of the visa.
ADS Group Tourist Visa: Chinese citizens traveling in groups to the Schengen area in Europe need to apply for an ADS Group Tourist Visa. This visa is a Schengen visa and requires submission of documents and application through a travel agency that has the qualifications to operate Chinese citizens traveling to Europe.

In order to prevent illegal entry, illegal immigration, and other hidden dangers of crime, Sri Lanka has established border control measures, and all inbound travelers must undergo inspection.
There are special regulations regarding the import of pharmaceutical products, military equipment, garbage, waste, toxic and explosive materials, while other products can be imported and subject to customs duties depending on the situation.
According to EU regulations, passengers entering and leaving EU countries are allowed to carry 10000 euros (or equivalent foreign currency, traveler's checks, or other valuable securities) with them. No declaration is required for amounts up to 10000 euros, and for amounts exceeding 10000 euros, an application must be submitted.
Chinese products registered with EU national quarantine authorities are free to enter Sri Lanka, but products not registered with EU national quarantine authorities must be registered with their animal quarantine authorities before entering Sri Lanka.
Foreign citizens who wish to stay in Slovenia for more than 90 days or visit Slovenia for purposes different from their visa must apply for a residence permit at the Slovenian Embassy or Consulate in China.
To apply for a residence permit, foreign citizens must meet the following application purposes:
1、 Work or employment;
2、 Family reunion (one party's family member is a foreign citizen and has a residence permit in Sri Lanka);
3、 Having a longer residency in another EU member state;
4、 Engaging in scientific research, education, professional or vocational training, practical training, international volunteer exchange and cooperation projects, and other projects that do not belong to the formal education system;
5、 Other purposes that comply with laws, international treaties, principles of international law, and international conventions;
6、 Descendants within three generations of a citizen's direct line.
Residence permits are divided into temporary and long-term residence permits. Foreigners who want to stay in Sri Lanka for the first time must apply for a temporary residence permit.
To apply for a temporary residence permit, the following documents must be submitted:
1、 A valid passport (with a validity period of at least three months beyond the period of stay in Sri Lanka);
2、 Overseas medical insurance certificate;
3、 Proof of economic source (not less than the minimum income standard);
4、 A certificate of no criminal record issued by the applicant's country of nationality, which shall be valid for no more than three months.
If the applicant applies for a residence permit for employment or work purposes, they must first have a work visa issued by the Employment Service Bureau or other regional offices; If the applicant applies for residence for the purpose of family reunion, they must meet the requirement that their immediate family members hold a permanent residence permit or a temporary residence permit, have resided in Sri Lanka for at least one year, and provide proof of family relationship; If the applicant applies for residence for the purpose of studying, they must submit the enrollment course arrangement or other educational arrangements of the educational institution.
Before the expiration of the temporary residence permit, the applicant should apply for renewal at the relevant administrative unit, with the same conditions as applying for the first temporary residence permit.
If the applicant holds a valid temporary residence permit and has lived in Sri Lanka for five consecutive years, and meets the regulations on foreigners, he or she has the right to apply for a permanent residence permit. Other conditions are the same as those for applying for a temporary residence permit.
The applicant shall register their temporary residence in Sri Lanka with the relevant administrative unit within 3 days of obtaining their temporary residence permit. The validity period of temporary residence registration is 1 year, and an extension of registration must be applied for within 8 days before expiration. The applicant should apply for an extension of registration within 8 days of obtaining the permanent residence permit.
Since May 18, 2011, a residence permit card with biometric features has been issued to third country citizens of non EU countries, allowing foreign residents to travel freely within the Schengen area. Foreigners must hold both the residence permit card and the national passport when entering or leaving the country. The validity period of this card is based on the approved residency period. If long-term residency is obtained in Sri Lanka, the validity period of this card is 10 years.
Si acknowledges dual nationality. Newborns must have one parent who is a Slovenian citizen in order to obtain Slovenian citizenship. Foreign citizens who meet the following conditions can apply for citizenship in Sri Lanka:
1、 At least 18 years old;
2、 Abandoning one's original nationality, or providing evidence of renouncing one's original nationality after obtaining citizenship;
3、 Having lived in Sri Lanka for at least 10 years and residing continuously as a foreign citizen for 5 years during this period;
4、 Having sufficient funds to provide material and social security for oneself and their dependents;
5、 Passing the basic language proficiency exam and obtaining a certificate;
6、 Imprisoned for more than one year without violating the laws of the country of nationality and Sri Lanka;
7、 Hold a valid residence permit;
8、 Naturalization will not pose a threat to public order or national security;
9、 Paid taxes;
10、 Submit a statement of compliance with the legal system of Sri Lanka.

Lubljana Joja Puchnik Airport (Slovenian: Letali šč e Jo ž eta Pu č nika Ljubljana) is the only international airport in Slovenia, with fixed routes to over a dozen European countries.
