Visa Entry

Chinese citizens holding diplomatic, official, or service ordinary passports are allowed to stay in Tajikistan for 30 days without visa application. If the stay exceeds 30 days, you need to go to the Consulate General of Tajikistan to apply for visa renewal procedures. Chinese citizens holding private passports to travel to Tajikistan need to apply for the corresponding visa at the Tajikistan Embassy in China before entering the country; If you want to apply for a Tajikistan visa on arrival, you must obtain a visa invitation letter confirmed by the Tajikistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in advance before you can apply for a visa on arrival at the airport.

Starting from January 1, 2017, Tajikistan has implemented an electronic visa processing system, which requires visa applications to be submitted through the www.visa.gov.tj website.

Since January 25, 2017, Tajikistan has issued and implemented the "Regulations on the Application and Issuance of Tajikistan Republic Visa and Electronic Visa for Foreign Citizens and stateless Persons", and the 2009 version of the visa regulations has been invalidated accordingly. The new visa regulations aim to improve the regulations and procedures for processing and issuing tower visas and electronic visas, make individual adjustments to visa types, and update in simplifying visa application procedures, attracting investment and tourism personnel, and other aspects. According to the new regulations, the procedures for obtaining investment visas have been simplified, and international flight crew members can enter and leave Tajikistan without a visa for the entire group.

3. When entering the tower, it is necessary to fill out the "Tower Entry Exit Form" in advance and keep it properly. When exiting, it must be returned to the tower for inspection.

Customs epidemic prevention and control

1. There is no limit to the amount of foreign currency brought into the tower (if carrying a large amount of money into the country, it is recommended to fill out a customs declaration form, as there will be a limit on the amount of foreign currency brought out of the country). No declaration is required to bring out $3000 or other equivalent foreign currency from the tower. If the amount of foreign currency taken out of the country exceeds 3000 US dollars, a customs declaration form must be filled out and a permit certificate (bank certificate or foreign currency declaration form filled out upon entry) must be presented.

2. Items with a value not exceeding $1000 and a weight not exceeding 50 kilograms can be carried upon entry (please consult the airline for specific weight limits for checked baggage), without the need for written customs declaration; If carrying items that exceed the above standards, customs clearance is required. Items worth no more than $3000 can be carried outside the tower. You can carry 2 liters of alcoholic products and 2 cigarettes through the customs.

3. Ta Customs conducts strict inspections on the following items (requiring a declaration form and a permit certificate): precious metals, gemstones, high-dose drugs (such as sleeping pills, painkillers, etc.), wireless communication equipment, some books, and imaging products.

Residency and Naturalization

1. Nationality

According to the relevant provisions of the Nationality Law of Tajikistan, except for special circumstances stipulated in the Nationality Law and treaties signed between Tajikistan and other countries (where Tajikistan and Russia hold dual citizenship), Tajikistan citizens are not allowed to hold citizenship of other countries.

2. Residence

Chinese citizens who go to Tajikistan should go through the registration procedures with the relevant departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs within 10 working days as required.

Regarding the procedures for personnel traveling to Tajikistan, they first need to bring an invitation letter to the Tajikistan Embassy in China for a face-to-face interview and submit application materials. Then, they will wait for the confirmation code of the invitation to be sent back by the Consulate General of the Tajikistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Tajikistan Embassy in China will process a valid 1-3 month work visa based on this code. After entering Tajikistan, they must register with the relevant departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs within 10 working days and apply for a labor card at the labor department within 7-15 working days. Afterwards, the inviting company will assist them in processing a six-month or one-year work visa at the Consulate General of the Tajikistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After obtaining the work visa, they must go to the relevant departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs within 10 working days to complete the residency procedures for the same period as the work visa.

Special reminder: The information filled in when applying for a labor card or work visa must be truthful, especially the actual residence and workplace must be filled in truthfully. The law enforcement department will conduct regular inspections.
