Visa Entry

1、 Chinese citizens holding diplomatic or official passports are eligible for visa free entry into Tunisia.

2、 Chinese tourists can enter Tunisia visa free. When checking in and entering the country, it is necessary to provide a hotel reservation (Bon touch) that has been paid to the hotel, and a round-trip ticket that matches the duration of the stay. If the hotel reservation is paid through a third-party platform, it is necessary to ensure that the fee has been paid to the hotel (bookings made through platforms such as Airbnb may be rejected), otherwise the trip may be blocked.

Customs epidemic prevention and control

1、 Duty free items

（1） Smoking and alcoholic beverages

According to Tunisian customs regulations, each passenger is allowed to bring in 200 cigarettes, 100 cigars, 50 cigars, or 500 grams of tobacco duty-free, as well as 2 liters of alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content of less than 25% or 1 liter of alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content exceeding 25%.

（2） Personal use items

You can carry 1 liter of eau de toilette and 250 mg of essence duty-free. If the number of items carried by an individual exceeds the scope of personal use and is clearly used for commercial purposes, in addition to paying corresponding taxes and fees, they also need to go through the procedures for foreign trade.

2、 Foreign exchange cash

The name of the Tunisian currency is the Tunisian Dinar (abbreviated as "Tudi"). In September 2023, 1 US dollar is equivalent to 3.08 taels. According to Tunisian law, all individuals entering, leaving, or transiting with foreign currency worth over 20000 (including) Tunisian pesos must complete customs declaration procedures. Non permanent residents in Turkey who do not declare upon entry may carry foreign currency equivalent to no more than 5000 taels when leaving the country; If declared upon entry, one can bring foreign currency equivalent to 5000 to 30000 taels within the declared amount upon departure, with a maximum of 30000 taels, and must provide materials such as the entry declaration form. If carrying foreign currency into the country, it can be exchanged for foreign currency at banks, airports, hotels, etc. When leaving, the remaining foreign currency must be exchanged back with the exchange voucher. Except for a small amount of pocket money, it is not allowed to carry out sudden departure.

Customs and other departments have increased their inspection of foreign currency cash carried by foreign citizens entering and leaving the country. If the cash carried exceeds the above-mentioned limit, it will be confiscated and fined. 3、 Special provisions

Bringing professional camera equipment, photography equipment, telecommunications equipment, and drone aerial equipment into the country requires prior permission from the relevant authorities, otherwise the relevant equipment will be confiscated.

4、 Entry and exit are strictly prohibited from carrying items

Prohibit the entry and exit of drugs, explosives (including firecrackers, fireworks, etc.), counterfeit goods, protected flora and fauna (such as palm trees and their derivatives), cultural relics, and other items expressly prohibited by Tunisia. Residency and Naturalization

1、 Short term residency

If you need to extend your stay after entering the country, you should apply to the nearby police station as soon as possible. If the stay period is exceeded and not extended, the border police will impose a fine on the passenger upon departure, depending on the length of the stay.

2、 Nationality Policy

Recognize dual nationality suddenly.

The conditions for applying for Tunisian citizenship are:

（1） The mother is a Tunisian citizen and the father is a foreign citizen. Those born outside of Tunisia who apply for Tunisian citizenship must make a declaration one year before reaching adulthood. Applicants can obtain Tunisian citizenship by submitting a joint declaration from their parents before the age of 19.

（2） Foreign women who marry Tunisian citizens may acquire Tunisian citizenship from the date of signing the marriage agreement, provided that their national law stipulates that they lose their original nationality upon marrying a foreign citizen.

（3） Foreign women who marry Tunisian citizens and are allowed by their own country's laws to retain their original nationality after marriage may apply for Tunisian nationality, but the couple must have lived in Tunisia for at least two years.

（4） Foreign citizens who are under the custody of Tunisian citizens may obtain Tunisian nationality from the date of the custody decision.

（5） Foreign citizens who apply for citizenship must prove that they have resided continuously in Tunisia for more than five years, but the following situations are exempt from the residence time limit under this article:

1. His original nationality has been determined to be Tunisian nationality;

2. Foreign citizens who marry Tunisian women and whose spouses are already residing in Tunisia at the time of application;

3. Foreign citizens who have made special contributions to the country or who can bring special benefits to the country by obtaining Turkish citizenship may be granted Turkish citizenship through a report submitted by the Ministry of Justice.

There are currently 15 yellow (medium risk) areas in Tunisia, while other areas are blue (low-risk). Specifically, as follows:

In 2011, the "Jasmine Revolution" occurred in Tunisia. From 2015 to 2016, there were four serious terrorist attacks in the capital city of Tunis, the main tourist city of Sous, and the southern city of Bengali Dan, which had a huge impact on the Tunisian economy and society. In November 2015, then President Essebsi declared a three-month national state of emergency, which has been repeatedly extended since then. Since 2016, the overall security situation in Tunisia has improved, but sporadic terrorist attacks still occur. From 2018 to 2020, small-scale terrorist attacks occurred in the center of Tunis, Sous, and the border area between Tunisia and Algeria. In 2023, a shooting incident occurred at the Jewish synagogue on Jerba Island, resulting in casualties. Carthage Site is located 17 kilometers north of Tunis. It is the most famous historic site in Tunisia and has been included in the The World Heritage List. The Baldur National Museum is the largest museum in the Maghreb region, ranking second in Africa after the Cairo Museum, and has the world's largest collection of inlaid paintings.
